What we’re
looking for.
One winner, chosen by the VYBE team. Polish helps, but an idea nobody else had helps more.
November is for creative code. Make a piece where the code is the art: a pattern that grows from a few simple rules, a shader that never repeats, a swarm that follows your hand, a tiny game, an instrument, a world that plays out differently every time. Tell Perlin what you’re after, then scrub it, play it and bend it until it’s yours. We’re after pieces that surprise us, reward a second look and make people wonder how they work.
Creative
Take the theme somewhere we didn’t see coming. Art, a game, an instrument, a toy: anything that runs.
Original
Start from your own idea and make it unmistakably yours. Remixes of someone else’s piece can’t be entered.
Inspiring
The piece people play twice, send to a friend, and then open the studio to try making their own.

03 / How to enter
Three steps
to the vault.
Entering is free, and so is everything you do with a piece once it exists. Tokens only pay for Perlin’s work while you make it.
Make it
Open the studio and describe your idea to Perlin. Tune it with the sliders, ask for changes, bend it until it’s yours.
Open the studioPublish it
Press Publish in the studio. Your piece gets its own page and joins the community, where anyone can play it.

Who can enter?
Anyone with a VYBE.ART account. It’s free to enter, and you don’t need to buy anything to enter or to win.
What can I enter?
A piece you made in the studio for this theme and published. Up to 3 pieces each, and a piece can only go into one competition. Art, games, instruments and sound pieces are all welcome, in any of the three engines.
Why no remixes?
The prize is for original work, so a piece that started from someone else’s published piece can’t be entered. Building on a piece of your own is fine.
When does it close?
Entries open Wednesday, November 4 at 1:00 PM UTC and close Monday, November 30 at 12:59 PM UTC. Until then you can withdraw an entry or swap it for another, and keep improving a piece you’ve entered: we judge it as it stands when entries close.
How is the winner chosen?
The VYBE team plays every entry and picks the one that is the most creative, original and inspiring. Favourites from the community don’t decide it, but we do love seeing them.
What does the winner get?
A Vault of 13,000 Vybe Tokens, added to the winner’s account when the result is announced on this page. Vybe Tokens are for making things with Perlin: they can’t be exchanged for cash or passed to another account.
Can an entry be removed?
Yes. We take out entries that break these rules or the site’s terms, or that have nothing to do with the theme. Unpublishing a piece also takes it out of the running until it’s published again.
