Vybe Tokens / How they work

Tokens

Pay for the making.
Play for free.

Vybe Tokens are only spent when Perlin, our creative agent, makes or changes something for you, and only for what the work actually took. Everything you do with a piece after that is free. Every new account starts with 150 tokens on us.

01 / What’s free

Most of it
costs nothing.

Tokens pay for Perlin’s work, and nothing else. Once a piece exists, everything you do with it is free.

Failed requests

0 tokens

If Perlin can’t finish something, you don’t pay for it.

02 / Fair by design

Charged for
what it took.

No flat fees and no guesswork. A small tweak costs a few tokens, a big new world costs more, and you always see exactly what each request came to.

Ask Perlin for

Effort

  1. 01

    Held

When a request starts, Perlin sets aside the level’s minimum, 60 for High. It’s how two requests can never spend the same tokens.

  2. 02

    Built

Perlin imagines, writes, checks and runs the piece. A bigger idea takes more work; a quick tweak takes less.

  3. 03

    Settled

You’re charged what the request actually took, to the token. Anything set aside but not used comes straight back.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING

Typical figures from recent requests. Every request is charged what it actually took, so yours may come to a little more or less.

03 / Effort and sound

You choose
how hard it works.

Every request goes out at an effort level you pick in the studio. More effort means deeper thinking and richer pieces, and uses more tokens. Switch any time, even between edits of the same piece.

Sound FX / Optional

Sound is a switch, not a surprise

Turn on Sound FX and Perlin composes sound effects, ambient beds and music loops for your piece, about 4 tokens each. Most pieces get two to six. Leave it off and sound costs nothing.

06 / Questions

Good to know.

What uses tokens?

Only Perlin’s work: making a new piece, changing one, or answering a question about it. Opening the studio, playing, remixing, tuning, editing code by hand, sharing, publishing and exporting never use any.

Why isn’t every request the same price?

Because you’re charged for what the request actually took. A one-line tweak is a few tokens; a whole new game with sound is more. The effort level you pick matters most, and each sound effect adds about 4.

What if a request fails, or I stop it?

A request Perlin can’t finish costs nothing. If you stop one partway, you pay only for the work done up to that point.

Are fixes free?

Yes. When a piece breaks, Perlin repairs it automatically, free, up to 20 fixes a day.

Why are tokens set aside when a request starts?

So two requests can never spend the same tokens. Perlin sets aside the effort level’s minimum while it works; when it finishes you’re charged what it took and anything unused comes straight back.

Where do I see my tokens?

Your balance sits at the top of every page once you’re signed in. In the studio, each of Perlin’s replies shows what it used, and your plan page lists every request.

What if I run low?

The studio tells you before a request would need more than you have, and suggests a lighter effort level that fits. Paid plans, coming soon, add tokens every month.
