The prompt

“An AR game: targets light up on my real walls and I fire glowing balls of light that bounce off the walls, floor and furniture to hit them and burst them into sparks, with every bounce before a hit multiplying the points, a one minute round, a floating score board, and in VR a neon room with the VYBE logo in neon on the wall”

Ask Perlin, the VYBE.ART creative agent, for something like this and it builds a piece like it. Start from this prompt and change any part of it: the look, the mood, the rules, the sound.

How it’s made

Ricochet is a VR and AR piece. It is JavaScript on three.js, the WebGL library behind most 3D on the web, and it runs live in your browser: nothing to download or install. It plays itself until you take the controls, and every rule is a slider you can bend.

On a headset or an Android phone it offers Enter VR and Enter AR. Everywhere else it plays on the screen. How VR and AR pieces work

Make it yours

  1. Open it in the studio, where it plays with its controls, and its code is a click away.
  2. Tell Perlin what to change in a sentence: a colour, a mood, a new rule, a sound.
  3. Bend it with its sliders, or put it on a timeline and render it to video.
  4. Publish it to the community, share its link or embed it on your site.
